POSITION OVERVIEW
Operate a snow plow truck and become the backbone of our winter operations. You’ll be responsible for clearing roads, parking lots, and properties during winter storms. This is a high-responsibility role that requires skill, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure during active snow events. Your work keeps our community safe and accessible.
POSITION DETAILS
– Position Title: Snow Plow Driver (Winter Season)
– Hours: On-call availability required for every storm event, any time of day or night
– Wage: $23.00–$25.00/hour (based on experience and equipment operated)
– Season: November 15 – April 15
– Location: Bay of Quinte (Belleville/Trenton area)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
– Operate snow plow truck safely and efficiently during winter storms
– Clear parking lots, driveways, and roadways to trigger depth (2 inches)
– Respond to dispatch calls within 6–8 hours of trigger depth
– Maintain equipment in good working condition and perform pre-trip inspections
– Monitor weather conditions and adjust operations as needed
– Communicate with dispatch and crew members throughout events
– Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
– Maintain professionalism and customer service during high-stress conditions
– Complete follow-up plowing during continuous snowfall (8–12 hour intervals)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
– Valid G class driver’s license
– Clean driver’s abstract REQUIRED
– Minimum 2 years of snow plow driving experience
– Ability to respond to storm call-outs at any time of day or night
– Demonstrated ability to operate snow plow equipment safely
– Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment care
– Ability to work independently and make quick decisions
– Reliable transportation or ability to get to job sites on short notice
– Clear communication and problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
– Ability to sit in operator position for extended periods (8–16+ hours during storm events)
– Ability to perform manual adjustments to plow equipment
– Comfort working in cold, wet, and potentially icy conditions
– Alertness and focus during high-stress operations
– Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb.
