The Drake is looking for a hands-on, service-minded IT/AV professional with strong desktop support skills, experience in a Windows/Active Directory environment, and proven audiovisual (AV) support and troubleshooting capabilities. The ideal candidate has an interest in hospitality systems such as PMS and POS platforms, event and booking systems, accounting software, guest Wi-Fi, phone systems, and web platforms, and is comfortable supporting meeting rooms, live events, and in-venue AV setups (audio, video, projection, displays, microphones, and control systems).
Reporting to the Director of IT, the IT/AV Support Specialist will help support the technology environment across Drake Hotel Properties, including hotel, restaurant, events, programming, corporate, and digital platforms with a mix of IT infrastructure and on-site AV support. Hours will be 5 days a week with flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on business demands.
The IT/AV Support Specialist will gain exposure to a broad and practical technology environment across hotel rooms, restaurants, events, corporate teams, web platforms, and guest-facing systems. The right candidate will enjoy variety, problem solving, and supporting a live hospitality business where technology and AV systems directly affect the guest experience and day-to-day operations. This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys solving problems directly with users, supporting events and venue operations, working with vendors, and helping keep technology running smoothly across a multi-property environment.
User Support + Desktop Services

Provide responsive in-person and remote technical support to property-level and corporate users.
- Set up, install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, printers, mobile devices, and standard software applications.
- Assist with user accounts, passwords, permissions, and access controls within an Active Directory environment.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, printer, Wi-Fi, VPN, and general network issues.
- Escalate more complex issues to senior Director of IT, vendors, or service providers as required.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, daily activities, ticket status, and follow-up items.
Provide clear and timely updates to users and the Director of IT.

AV Systems + Event Technology Support

Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV equipment for meetings, events, and programming (PA systems, microphones, mixers, speakers, projectors, screens, TVs, and conferencing tools).

Support meeting rooms and event spaces, including AV signal flow, cabling, control systems, and room configurations.

Assist with installation, testing, and maintenance of AV hardware and infrastructure across properties.

Coordinate with external AV vendors, artists, production teams, and event partners when needed.

Help document AV setups, equipment inventories, and standard configurations.
Hospitality Systems + Business Applications

Support day-to-day use of hospitality and business systems, including PMS, POS, event management, accounting, and related operational platforms.
- Assist with software configuration, user setup, permissions, reporting, and workflow adjustments.
- Support system upgrades, software updates, integrations, and rollouts across multiple properties.
- Work with third-party vendors to troubleshoot issues, manage upgrades, and support system reliability.
Help identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to reduce downtime and improve user experience.

Web Platforms + Digital Support

Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, and updates for company websites and online services.
- Support basic front-end and back-end website enhancements as required.
- Help troubleshoot hosting, DNS, SSL, website performance, and uptime issues.
- Support website security, platform updates, and vendor coordination where needed.

2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, desktop support, systems support, or a similar role.
- Strong customer service mindset and clear communication skills.
- Comfortable supporting both technical and non-technical users.

Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365, and common desktop applications.
- Experience with Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, passwords, and access controls.
- Basic understanding of Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPN, and network troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of AV systems, basic audio/video signal flow, and common event technologies.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues and follow through to resolution.
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and keep accurate records.
- Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and reliable.
- Ability to be on-site when required, including event support and occasional urgent property-level AV or IT needs.
Experience supporting software implementations, upgrades, or technology projects.

- Audio-visual systems, basic signal flow, meeting room technology, and event support.
- Audio-visual systems including PA systems, mixers, microphones, amplifiers, projectors, displays, conferencing tools, and control systems.
