About the Role
As an integral part of the Kemptville Health and Wellness Centre team, you will work within your full scope of practice to deliver exceptional care and support to our physicians and patients. We are looking for a dedicated, highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses an elevated work ethic.
What You'll Do
- Clinical Care: Administer intramuscular injections, vaccinations, and liquid nitrogen treatments. Perform ear syringing, wound assessments, dressing changes, and duties as directed by physician.
- Patient Workups: Complete preliminary patient workups and manage specific appointment types, including diabetes, well-baby, prenatal, annual health, and Ministry of Transportation exams.
- Physician Support: Set up trays for PAPs, IUDs, and procedures, assist physicians during these examinations, and process all lab specimens efficiently with the appropriate paperwork.
- Digital Health & Administration: Guide patients through Ocean Tablet form completion, accurately complete all charting to facility standards, and respond to all EMR messages (familiarity with TELUS PS Suite EMR is a strong asset).
- Infection Control: Clean and disinfect exam rooms after each patient, strictly adhering to IPAC guidelines. Sterilize instruments, maintain autoclave equipment, and manage the required documentation and logs. Maintain and manage all biohazard containers, supplies and pick up.
- Inventory & Safety: Stock exam rooms and the nurse station, create and unpack supply orders, and monitor pharmacy samples and expiration dates. Maintain medical supply inventory, monitor vaccine levels to ensure compliance with Fridge Vaccine Guidelines, and manage the emergency anaphylaxis kit to MOH requirements.
What You Bring
- Successful completion of a Registered Practical Nurse Diploma.
- Valid registration/licensing in applicable colleges or associations.
- Excellent communication skills English.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior ability to work under pressure, manage difficult situations professionally, and prioritize tasks effectively as both an independent worker and a team player.
- Proficient in medical terminology and documentation
- Familiarity with PSS or other electronic medical record systems is an asset
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
