Olymbec is currently seeking a Fire Safety Inspection Technician to join our Fire Safety team. By joining us, you will become a key member in ensuring the safety of Olymbec’s buildings and tenants.This position involves overseeing inspections of residential and commercial buildings to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, assessing risks related to fire and hazardous materials, preparing and designing evacuation plans, and developing emergency response programs.
The Fire Safety Inspection Technician will report to the Fire Protection Supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct inspection visits across all buildings; inspect and test fire alarm systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.

Assess and analyze risks and safety issues and propose corrective solutions.

Identify weaknesses in the organization’s safety protocols.

Plan and develop fire safety prevention and emergency response programs.

Design and implement prevention and intervention projects and programs.

Communicate with various stakeholders in the safety and security field.

Prepare detailed reports on inspections and the outcomes of interventions.

Educate clients on best fire safety practices and provide sound advice on fire prevention.

Stay up to date on the latest fire safety standards and regulations.

Understand fire-related insurance: document incidents based on cause, damage, and response actions; handle insurance claims, understand coverage, and ensure protocols meet insurance requirements.

Perform other related tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

College certificate in Fire Prevention Techniques or a DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Fire Safety.

Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in fire prevention.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to interact at all levels of the organization and with external clients.

Valid driver’s license and access to a car.

Valid Security Agent license (BSP) and/or ASP card.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work in various challenging situations.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
