Drum Teacher – Max Music Academy

Max Music Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, dependable, and skilled Drum Teacher to join our growing team. We are seeking someone who is passionate about teaching and can inspire students of all ages and skill levels to become confident, well-rounded musicians.

Responsibilities
- Teach one-on-one drum lessons to children, teens, and adults.
- Develop personalized lesson plans based on each student’s goals, interests, and experience.
- Teach proper technique, stick control, timing, coordination, reading music, rhythm, groove, fills, and musicality.
- Introduce students to a variety of musical styles, including rock, pop, jazz, funk, blues, metal, and contemporary music.
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, auditions, and other musical opportunities.
- Encourage consistent practice habits and monitor student progress.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and academy staff.
- Maintain lesson notes and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in academy recitals and special events when available.
Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching drum lessons is preferred.
- Formal music education, professional performance experience, or equivalent training.
- Strong knowledge of drum set technique, rhythm, and music theory.
- Ability to teach beginners through advanced students.
- Comfortable teaching children, teenagers, and adults.
- Professional, reliable, organized, and punctual.
- Experience preparing students for RCM examinations or other recognized music programs is an asset but not required.

The ideal teacher is patient, encouraging, energetic, and able to create lessons that are both educational and fun. You should be passionate about helping students build confidence while developing solid technical skills and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Teachers who enjoy working with bands, coaching ensemble performances, and contributing to group classes or workshops are especially encouraged to apply.
Schedule
Lessons are primarily scheduled during weekday afternoons and evenings, with some weekend availability depending on student demand. Flexible scheduling is available based on teacher availability.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.50-$35.00 per hour
