Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman/woman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Experience with Hiway Tractors and trailers, Heavy Equipment, and various other machinery is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse equipment including excavators, dozers, hiway tractors, farm machinery and automotive repair.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy-duty equipment such as excavators, dozers, Trucks, and farm machinery.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Conduct welding and assembly tasks as needed for repairs or upgrades
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized machinery safely and efficiently
- Perform heavy lifting and assist in the disassembly or reassembly of complex systems
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to failure
- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs promptly while maintaining high quality standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively about repair needs and timelinesQualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with a valid journeyman/woman certification preferred
- Dealership experience is a plus
- Extensive knowledge of industrial equipment, automotive repair, HVAC systems, and heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, trucks, trailers or farm machinery
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems
- Skilled in welding, assembly, maintenance, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Prior experience working with customer service in a repair or maintenance setting is desirable

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour
