This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to join Alberta Precision Laboratories as part of the Corporate Finance & Advisory Services team supporting operational and medical portfolios across a province-wide laboratory organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide advanced financial analysis, operational finance support, and advisory services within a large, complex healthcare organization. In this role, you will work closely with operational leaders and finance colleagues to support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and operational planning activities that contribute to informed decision-making and organizational performance. This position offers the opportunity to support healthcare services that directly impact patients and communities across Alberta. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will coordinate and/or prepare complex financial analyses, forecasts, reports, and statistical information to support operational planning, financial reporting, and business requirements. Your work will focus on budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, business case development, and recommendations related to operational and financial performance. You will provide interpretation and explanation of financial information to operational and non-financial stakeholders while supporting financial decision-making, operational planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. In addition, you will participate in financial projects and collaborate with operational, clinical, and corporate stakeholders within a large and evolving healthcare environment.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or directly related progressively responsible experience demonstrating comparable knowledge and skills may be considered. Minimum of three (3) years of accounting or financial experience. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and apply a systematic approach to work. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting established deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Progress toward or completion of a recognized professional accounting or finance designation (e.g., CPA) or an MBA is considered an asset. Experience in healthcare or other large, complex organizations is preferred. Intermediate proficiency with Power BI and working knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion applications are considered assets. Experience providing financial analysis, reporting, and advisory support to senior leadership is preferred.
