Lead Fence & Deck Carpenter / Working ForemanPosition Summary
The Lead Fence & Deck Carpenter is responsible for the successful installation of residential and commercial fencing, decking, gates, and related exterior construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring independent decision-making, quality workmanship, and the ability to guide and train less experienced crew members.
Primary Responsibilities
- Construct wood, chain link, and ornamental and composite fencing systems
- Set posts, place concrete, and perform layout work
- Build decks, stairs, railings, gates, and related structures
- Read drawings, measurements, and project specifications
- Operate and maintain construction tools and equipment safely
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment
- Tow company trailers and operate company vehicles where required
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Communicate professionally with customers and suppliers on site
- Identify and resolve construction issues in the field
- Assist with training and mentoring helpers and junior installers
- Lead small crews and coordinate daily job-site activities when required
- Complete projects to company quality standards and production schedules
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of carpentry, fencing, decking, or exterior construction experience
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of construction methods and job-site safety
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record preferred
- Ability to lift and carry construction materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Other Duties
This position may require performing related construction, equipment operation, material handling, training, and project coordination duties reasonably associated with residential and commercial exterior construction projects.

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
