N.A.C.A. Industrial Painter
Position Summary
Experienced N.A.C.A.-trained Industrial Painter with knowledge of industrial coating systems,
surface preparation, spray application, and protective coatings for steel and metal structures.
Skilled in preparing surfaces, mixing and applying coatings according to manufacturer and
project specifications, operating spray equipment safely, and maintaining high-quality finishing
standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Read and follow work orders, drawings, specifications, coating procedures, and safety
instructions.
Prepare steel and metal surfaces for painting, including inspection of blasted surfaces and
identification of weld defects, excessive weld splatter, and surface-preparation issues.
Mix paints, primers, epoxy, hardeners, and other coating materials according to
specifications and required ratios.
Apply industrial protective coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment,
brushes, and rollers.
Apply high-build epoxy and other industrial coating systems to stainless steel tanks,
vessels, structural steel, and fabricated components.
Follow N.A.C.A./industry coating practices and project specifications to achieve required
coating quality and thickness.
Operate and maintain airless paint sprayers, spray guns, hoses, pumps, hand tools, and
power tools.
Inspect completed work for proper coverage, finish, defects, and overall quality.
Maintain clean and organized painting equipment, tools, work areas, and paint booths.
Follow all workplace safety, environmental, PPE, and hazardous-material handling
procedures.
Report equipment hazards, unsafe conditions, coating defects, and other issues to the
supervisor or foreman.
Coordinate work activities with shop personnel and supervisors to maintain production
schedules.
Estimate paint quantities, materials, and time required for assigned work.
Safely work around cranes and large fabricated steel components.
Maintain accurate routine reports and production documentation.
Manage multiple painting assignments while maintaining attention to detail and quality
standards.
Qualifications & Skills
N.A.C.A. training or certification in industrial protective coatings is an asset.

2–3+ years of industrial painting experience preferred.
Experience painting stainless steel, structural steel, tanks, vessels, piping, or fabricated
metal components.
Experience with airless and conventional spray-painting equipment.
Knowledge of surface preparation and industrial coating application.
Experience with high-build epoxy and protective coating systems.
Ability to read and follow technical instructions, work orders, and coating specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing or steel-fabrication environment.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Comfortable climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and working in awkward
positions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
Strong safety awareness and reliable attendance.
Preferred Experience
N.A.C.A. industrial coating training/certification.
Structural steel fabrication.
Tank and vessel manufacturing.
Pipe or sheet-metal fabrication.
Abrasive blasting and surface preparation.
Coating inspection and dry-film-thickness requirements.
Crane operation in a manufacturing environment.
Pay: $24.00-$25.00 per hour
