Nutritional Support Worker - $22.00/hr
Fire Pit Cultural Drop-In Centre
Positive Living North (PLN) is a charitable society providing direct services for people living with, and affected by,
HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C (HCV). Positive Living North also operates the Fire Pit, a cultural drop-in center for those living with or at risk for infection.
Candidate Profile, Qualifications, & Responsibilities
We are seeking a team player with healthy personal characteristics who is passionate about supporting PLN’s mandate to assist all people in gaining full access to the Determinants of Health. We seek a dynamic individual who can comfortably, confidentially, and compassionately work in an environment which respects diversity and has the ability to deal non-judgmentally with issues such as addiction, poverty, and the legacy of the colonization of Aboriginal people.

Qualifications:
- Formal cook/chef training or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Food Safe Certificate
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s license and access to vehicle
- Understanding the issues that impact homelessness and risk for HIV/AIDS
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- The ability to work as a member of a team and be open to receiving group feedback on performance

Responsibilities:
- Preparation of weekly menu
- Maintenance of supply inventory
- Development of weekly purchasing supplies list
- Preparation of daily meals
- Maintenance of statistical data of daily access to services
- Coordinate and maintain kitchen facilities at the Fire Pit
- Coordinate and secure food donations
- Ensure that the Fire Pit kitchen facilities meets all applicable health regulations
- Attend monthly Fire Pit Staff Meetings and other required meetings
- Other related duties as assigned by Manager
SCHEDULE
Monday, Tuesday 9am - 0430pm, Wednesday to Friday 1100 am to 0430pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$22.50 per hour
