Reporting to the Store Manager and/or Franchisee, the Meal Advisor position incorporates all of the multiple forms of retail sales. Responsibilities include receiving products, organizing and merchandising products, product consultation and product selling. General duties also include light store maintenance and cleaning. Will be able to work various shifts on any day of the week.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
To effectively fulfill the responsibilities of this position, the candidate must be able to complete the following:
1. Be responsible for selling all products at M&M Food Market
2. Wear the company uniform with pride and follow the personal appearance policy as outlined in our corporate documentation
3. Complete every sales transaction with our Mission Statement in mind
4. Provide exceptional customer service using the “Show and Tell” method and by offering detailed product knowledge to enhance the customer experience using selling techniques such as complementary or suggestive selling with each transaction
5. Effectively explain all aspects of our Loyalty Program
6. Execute planned sampling programs (includes the preparation of samples using safe food handling practices) and the strategy “Sampling to Sell”
7. Utilize the P.O.S. computer system to accurately process sales and refund transactions (all types of tender)
8. Receive deliveries and organize products appropriately. This will include following planograms for merchandising products for sale and organizing products for storage in the freezer; stock rotation is an important aspect of the role
9. Organize and stock inventory on each shift (filling doors, shelves & freezers to hilt), and accurately count inventory monthly (or as required)
10. Implement sales promotions using corporate visual merchandising plans (i.e. hanging window signs and ceiling signs, removing old sales materials, updating pricing boards) and complete pricing of products in self-serve areas as required
11. Provide general light store cleaning and maintenance (cleaning counters, dusting shelves, store vacuuming/moping etc.) and general equipment cleaning and maintenance (microwave, defrost freezers, etc.)
12. Daily online Meal Advisor training program 3 quiz-Menu-Axonify & reference to corporate websites-M&M way and Discovery.
13. Daily schedule Reports covering hours worked, key indicators and other specified reports as per the format in the email. The Day reports are linked to wages & performance appraisals.
14. Conscious about the store’s interest and security despite scanners and cameras being in place for support & guidance.
15. Complete other related duties as assigned by the Store Manager/Franchisee
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Fully capable of lifting boxes (up to 30 pounds) & able to work in a cold (freezer) environment for periods of time
2. Self-motivated and have strong communication skills – interpersonal, telephone, customer rapport
3. Knowledge of a Windows-based computer environment/emails
4. Reliable transportation to work
5. Prior retail experience and knowledge of food preparation are assets
6. Ability to work with limited supervision and work independently
