Role Overview
Do you love working with toddlers and preschoolers, and enjoy creating magical moments through movement and music? As our Saturday Preschool + Recreational Dance Teacher, you will engage young children in dynamic, fun, and structured classes that build confidence, coordination, and joy.
What You Will Do
- Lead classes for toddlers, preschoolers, and recreational dancers by delivering high-energy, clear, and encouraging instruction that keeps children engaged and focused.
- Create and maintain a safe, positive classroom atmosphere where each child feels supported and successful.
- Demonstrate patience and adaptability by responding constructively to the needs and behaviors of young children, ensuring smooth classroom flow.
- Communicate professionally and proactively with parents and staff, providing updates and support as needed.
- Participate actively in recital routines and seasonal events, applying teamwork and enthusiasm to contribute to a memorable experience for dancers and families.
- Accept and act on feedback from mentors and colleagues to continuously improve teaching effectiveness and classroom management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain at least 90% punctual attendance and readiness for all scheduled classes.
- Achieve positive feedback from parents and mentors regarding clarity of communication, classroom engagement and teaching confidence.
- Demonstrate growth in classroom leadership skills through mentor evaluations and self-reflection.
- Achieve consistent class attendance of 80%+ by fostering an engaging and welcoming learning environment.
- Support a retention rate of 80%+ of students re-registration for the next session/year through positive teacher-student-family relationships.
- Complete and submit all lesson plans, recital preparations, and event participation tasks on time.
- Maintain daily communication responsiveness via Slack and Asana to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Attend group teacher trainings, one on one meetings and staff meetings and participate fully.
Schedule & Hours
- Saturdays, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (guaranteed hours - teaching time).
- Possibility of additional weekday hours.
- Optional sub opportunities during the week to expand experience and hours.
- Potential to grow into additional classes as the program expands.
