Overview
We are seeking a professional and dependable Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating heavy-duty trucks to deliver freight across various locations, ensuring timely and secure transportation of goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, vehicle maintenance, and safety procedures. Experience with forklift operation, heavy equipment, and automotive repair is considered a valuable asset. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks to transport freight to designated destinations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, including automotive troubleshooting when necessary.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company policies during operations.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Report any incidents or mechanical issues promptly to supervisors for resolution.
Skills
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience in freight transportation and commercial driving operations.
- Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, including DOT compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with dispatch and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively on long-haul or local routes.
Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
