Position Summary:
Location: In Person Position- Monday - Friday
Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (1 hour lunch)
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and increasing Britespan’s market share. This role is primarily field-based and focused on direct-to-end-user sales in the agricultural and commercial construction markets. The successful candidate will actively prospect, generate leads, conduct on-site meetings, develop proposals, close sales, and support projects through completion while delivering a best-in-class customer experience. This position requires strong consultative selling skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to manage long sales cycles.

Position Qualifications:
Education & Knowledge

College diploma or university degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)

Strong knowledge of agricultural operations and/or commercial construction

Understanding of municipal planning processes, building codes, and permit requirements

Knowledge of pre-engineered, post-frame, or fabric building systems (asset)

Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
Skills

Proven ability to prospect, cold call, and develop new business opportunities

Excellent time management and territory planning abilities

Proven background in B2B/B2C sales

Financial acumen: pricing, margins, markups, budgeting

Excellent task and time management

Experience using CRM systems (HubSpot)

Experience
-
5+ years of outside sales experience (construction or building industry preferred)

2+ years of agricultural and/or commercial construction-related sales experience

Experience in pre-engineered and/or post-framed buildings - asset

Responsibilities:
1. Territory Development & Lead Generation
-
Develop and execute a territory sales strategy to grow agricultural and commercial market share

Identify, prospect, and qualify new leads through networking, cold calling, trade shows, farm visits, industry associations, and referrals

Maintain an active and accurate pipeline in CRM
-
Provide pipeline updates and sales forecasts
2. Consultative Sales & Closing

Conduct on-site customer meetings, needs assessments, and facility evaluations

Present customized building solutions aligned with client operational requirements

Prepare detailed proposals, pricing, and project documentation
-
Negotiate and execute sales contracts clearly outlining scope and terms

Take ownership of each opportunity from initial contact through signed contract
3. Project Coordination & Customer Support

Collaborate with engineering, estimating, manufacturing, and project management teams

Monitor project timelines, budgets, and customer expectations

Attend site meetings as required

Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle

Support resolution of field issues while reinforcing company procedures
4. Relationship & Account Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with agricultural producers, commercial clients, consultants, engineers, contractors, and municipal stakeholders

Develop long-term strategic accounts within assigned territory

Encourage repeat business and referral opportunities

Represent Britespan at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
