Job Overview
Galcon Precast Ltd. is seeking a skilled and dependable Crane Truck Driver to operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with cranes for transporting and lifting precast concrete elements. This role requires a professional with a strong safety record, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle heavy equipment efficiently. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring timely deliveries and safe handling of cargo across various job sites.
Duties
- Operate crane trucks to load, unload, and transport precast concrete elements.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle and crane equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Secure loads using appropriate rigging and tie-down techniques to prevent shifting during transit.
- Coordinate with site personnel to facilitate smooth loading and unloading operations.
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the truck and crane as needed, including checking fluid levels and reporting mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations during transportation and operation of heavy machinery.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL license.
- Valid Level 1 B.C. Crane Ticket
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation, including cranes, forklifts, and related machinery.
- Ability to operate forklift trucks for loading and unloading freight efficiently.
- Familiarity with freight handling procedures and securement techniques.
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with transportation laws.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and site personnel.
- Physical ability to handle heavy loads, perform inspections, and work in various weather conditions. Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
