We're looking for a motivated Junior Locator / Locate Assistant to join our Edmonton Operations team. Whether you're looking to start a career in utility locating or already have some field experience, this is an excellent opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, develop valuable technical skills, and build a long-term career in the industry.
This position supports utility locating projects for clients including Enbridge, ConocoPhillips, and other major industrial and infrastructure partners. The role involves regular travel throughout Alberta, with out-of-town work assignments lasting up to 10 days at a time .

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Assist Utility Locators with field locating activities on a variety of client projects.
Support underground utility locating using industry-standard equipment and procedures.
Record, organize, and maintain accurate locate field notes and documentation.
Safely prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and company vehicles.
Travel to project sites throughout Alberta, including multi-day assignments.
Follow company and client health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.
Participate in ongoing training and develop technical locating skills.
Work closely with senior team members while building confidence and independence in the field.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous field, construction, labour, utility, surveying, or locating experience is considered an asset but is not required .
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
Comfortable travelling and working out of town for up to 10 days at a time .
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physically capable of walking long distances, lifting equipment, and performing field work.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take direction.
Dependable, safety-focused, and reliable.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a permanent basis.
WORK SCHEDULE
Typical rotation of 10 days on / 4 days off (or as operationally required).
Overtime opportunities available based on project requirements.
