Via Verde Hydroponics owns and operates 45 acres of hydroponic vegetables in Leamington, ON. We are looking to hire for the position of General Farm Labour. This is a full time, permanent position which requires day, evening and weekend availability.
Job duties include vegetable propagation; planting and harvesting crops; crop maintenance (winding, clipping, hooking, de-leafing); clean, sanitize greenhouses, equipment and tools; sort, pack and stack produce; product prep for market (box making, tagging, stacking, wrapping product); check all products for quality assurance (noting any disease or pest pressures); clean all work areas; other farm duties as assigned.
Job is physically demanding and requires standing, kneeling, bending for long periods of time. Candidate will be required to work under hot, humid conditions at heights.
Minimum 40 hours per week. No education required as we will train all employees
Work must be completed at physical work location
Start date immediate with no end date as we operate all year long producing crops and packing produce.
