Position Summary
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the financial and administrative coordination of the practice. This role focuses on patient accounts, insurance processing, payment arrangements, timely payment collections, treatment financing, maintaining patient ledgers and maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring an excellent patient experience.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, professional, and capable of managing sensitive financial information with accuracy and confidentiality.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Coordination
- Present treatment fees and financial arrangements to patients
- Explain insurance coverage, estimates, and patient portions clearly
- Process payments, financing applications, and payment plans
- Follow up on outstanding balances and overdue accounts
- Monitor accounts receivable and collections
- Reconcile daily financial transactions and reports
- Ensure accurate posting of payments, adjustments, and insurance claims
- Coordinate with insurance companies regarding claims and pre-authorizations
- Review and manage patient ledgers for accuracy
Administrative Responsibilities
- Answer patient financial questions professionally and confidently
- Maintain accurate financial documentation and records
- Assist with front desk support and patient communication as needed
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative team members to ensure smooth office operations
- Help maintain compliance with office policies and financial protocols
- Support scheduling and administrative coverage when required
Patient Experience
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
- Handle financial discussions with empathy and clarity
- Help create a positive and organized office environment
Qualifications
- Previous dental or orthodontic office experience preferred
- Experience with dental software and insurance processing preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional and team-oriented attitude
Wages : Negotiable depending upon qualification and experience
