If a Machine Is Down, You’re the Person Everyone Calls.
At Wedlock Paper Converters, our production floor runs around the clock and the people who keep it that way are our Industrial Maintenance Mechanics. This isn’t a reactive-only role. You’ll be implementing preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and making sure our bag-making and printing lines stay running safely and efficiently.
If you’re the type who reads machine manuals for fun, who can diagnose a problem by sound before you even open the panel, and who takes personal ownership of uptime, we want to meet you.
Who We Are
Wedlock Paper Converters Ltd. is a Mississauga-based manufacturer of flexible packaging and converted paper products. We run Weber and Garant bag-making machines along with W&H Miraflex flexographic printing equipment, and our facility operates to strict AIB and Health & Safety standards.
Our Maintenance team is a small, skilled group that works closely with Production supervisors and Operators. When you’re here, your work is visible, and so is your impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two shifts are identical, but here’s what you can count on:
- Implementing and executing preventative maintenance programs: catching problems before they become downtime
- Troubleshooting mechanical and equipment issues and making repairs, then testing to confirm correct operation: temporary fixes when needed, permanent solutions as the standard
- Performing all required inspections and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures with full compliance
- Reading and interpreting machine manuals and technical specifications
- Lubricating mechanical parts, replacing worn components, and keeping equipment in peak condition
- Providing technical guidance to Operators, Lead Hands, Supervisors, and Managers
- Liaising with the production and management team to minimize cost, reduce breakdowns, and cut waste
- Working with parts vendors and external stakeholders as needed
What You Bring to the Table
The must-haves:
- 5+ years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent hands-on technical training
- Strong mechanical aptitude: proficient with wrenches, drills, hammers, and precision tools
- Solid troubleshooting skills: you diagnose systematically and fix it right the first time
- Working knowledge of LOTO procedures and safety compliance
- Ability to read technical documents and machine manuals
- Strong communication skills — you’re a resource for the floor, not just a technician in a corner
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable, production depends on you showing up ready
The Real Talk: What This Job Is Like
- You’ll work in an active manufacturing environment; machine noise, paper dust, and variable temperatures are part of the job
- CSA-approved safety footwear is required; additional PPE as needed
- The role requires fast-paced physical capability; you’ll be on your feet, working in tight spaces, and lifting as needed
- Occasional overtime happens
- You’ll interact daily with Production, Supervisors, and Operators; being approachable and clear matters as much as being technically sharp
Why Wedlock?
Maintenance is not an afterthought here, it’s how we stay competitive. You’ll have the support of leadership, and the autonomy to do your job properly.
