About the role
We're looking for a hands-on associate to help grow our sales and marketing efforts while keeping our retail store operations running smoothly. This is fundamentally a retail operations role — a strong understanding of how a retail store runs day to day is essential, and marketing and e-commerce responsibilities build on that foundation.
You'll work across e-commerce, marketing strategy, and retail store operations, so you should be comfortable moving between big-picture planning and detailed, hands-on execution.
We're looking for a proactive problem solver. This is someone who identifies what needs to be done and takes the initiative to do it, rather than waiting for direction. The ability to communicate, solve problems independently, take ownership, and work with accurate, reliable information will be central to success in this role.
This is a good fit for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, understands retail operations, and likes seeing the direct results of their work.
What you'll do
- Assess customer service standards and the in-store retail environment
- Order and manage stock
- Propose improvements to current operation procedures
- Run online marketing, e-commerce, and website promotions
- Develop marketing strategies
- Develop and implement business plans
- Conduct sales calls
- Prepare analytical reports
What we're looking for
- A college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (3 months to under 1 year), or equivalent experience
- 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience
- A solid understanding of retail store operations. This is not a purely digital or marketing role
- A self-starter mindset, with the initiative to solve problems independently rather than only executing instructions.
- Experience in sales and marketing promotions
- Background in market research and operations management
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Shopify
Nice to have
- Newsletter design and planning, and graphic design skills
- An understanding of brand management
- A genuine interest in specialty coffee and espresso
