Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and proficiency in manual lathe and milling machining. This role involves reading blueprints and ensuring precise fabrication of components according to specifications. The Manual Machinist will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality production standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate lathe and milling machines to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform basic math calculations necessary for machining tasks.
- Set up and calibrate machines, including adjusting tooling and fixtures for optimal performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machining equipment to minimize downtime.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, supporting overall production flow.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role with mechanical knowledge.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading
- Knowledge of machining techniques using lathe, milling machine, hand tools, and power tools.
- Ability to read calipers and other precision measurement devices accurately.
- Experience with welding is a plus.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail to ensure quality standards are met. Pay: $30.00-$36.51 per hour
