Job Overview
Diamond Construction Group is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Grader Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating motor graders to accurately level and shape surfaces for road construction, site development, and maintenance projects.
You will play a key role in ensuring finished grades meet project specifications, including proper elevation, alignment, and drainage. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and contribute to high-quality civil construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate motor grader equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform fine grading, leveling, and surface finishing
- Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and specifications
- Ensure proper slope, drainage, and alignment of surfaces
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine equipment maintenance
- Identify and report mechanical issues as needed
- Work closely with site supervisors and crew members
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience operating a motor grader
- Strong ability to read grade stakes and site plans
- Experience with GPS or laser grading systems is an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Solid understanding of workplace safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to travel to various job sites
Working Conditions
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions (including extreme temperatures)
- Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and heavy equipment
- Work performed around moving machinery and uneven terrain
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Prolonged sitting while operating equipment
- Frequent climbing, bending, twisting, and reaching
- Ability to safely use tools and equipment
- Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and crouching
