National Shunt Service is a family-owned and operated transportation Company that serves markets across North America. We call it shunting, but you may know it as spotting, jockeying, yarding, or switching. Job Duties:
· Develop, implement, oversee, and maintain documentation of the company’s SOPs, safety policies, and procedures to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
· Investigate accidents that occur onsite, identify possible causes of the accident; track and follow up on the corrective actions.
· Provide training to Operations on Incident, Audit & Injury reporting.
· Create, develop and maintain specific Audits to support the business in all areas of operation.
· Overseeing or monitoring various inspections/audit reports, and ensuring they are completed on time.
· Auditing employee files, reporting results, and ensuring proper maintenance.
· Produce analytical reports and statistical information; analyze trends and present findings on various inspections, audits, and incidents on a regular basis.
· Weekly report out on Safety, Quality & Audit findings to Operations Teams (US & Canada)
· Identify, assist, co-ordinate and/or conduct H&S training; prepare and track monthly Safety focus.
· Development of JHSC’s at required sites throughout Cdn work sites
· Act as a resource to the Joint Health & Safety Committee(s), including scheduling and participating in meetings; coordinate project plans; track monthly H&S inspections; report on findings.
· Assist with the day-to-day efficient operation of Human Resources.
· WSIB reporting and claim involvement (future)
· Insurance Claim reporting and follow up
· Other duties as assigned.
