Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Officer to oversee and implement safety protocols across construction sites and projects. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, promote a culture of safety, and minimize workplace hazards. This role is vital in maintaining a secure environment for all personnel involved in construction activities, fostering both safety and efficiency on-site.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies tailored to construction sites.
- Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with underground coring operations and other regulatory standards.
- Lead safety training sessions for construction workers and management staff to promote best practices.
- Investigate accidents or incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to integrate safety measures into daily operations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of safety inspections, training sessions, incident reports, and compliance documentation.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, emerging safety technologies, and best practices in construction safety management.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction or related fields with a strong understanding of construction site operations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively train teams and communicate safety protocols.
- Strong analytical skills for hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in occupational health and safety is preferred but not mandatory.
