The Rehabilitation Assistant assumes various duties including carrying out assigned Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy) activities / interventions specific to their area of training; collecting client information; maintaining equipment and preparing treatment areas; and performing administrative and other related duties. Work location will be between Community Hospital and Western Hospital.
Duties include:
- orient client to the treatment area, including relevant policies;
- assist with client programs as directed by a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist;
- prepare equipment / materials in the treatment areas for client cares;
- demonstrate awareness of safety issues related to clients, staff and caregivers;
- organize and deliver group treatment programs;
- participate as a team member in client care;
- document and record client information as assigned by the supervising therapist;
- maintain an inventory of equipment and supplies;
- maintain daily and monthly workload measurement data as per MIS guidelines;
- other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have successful completion of Grade 12 and must have a diploma from a recognized Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Rehabilitation Assistant program with training specific to Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
- Applicants must have good interpersonal and communication skills and good organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.
- Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record.
- Successful applicant must provide a satisfactory criminal records check prior to beginning employment
Other Qualifications:
- Previous working experience in a rehabilitation setting or as direct caregiver would be an asset.
- Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Salary Range: $28.43 – $30.79 per hour
Bi-Weekly Hours: 75 hours Bi-weekly / Days / Possible Weekends.
