Position Summary
The Employment & Business Development Coordinator supports the growth, sustainability, and day-to-day coordination of PLC’s employment, training, and social enterprise initiatives. This role combines business development, employer engagement, project coordination, participant support, partnership development, and operational planning. While initially focused on the PLC Cleaning Crew, the successful candidate may also support other employment and social enterprise initiatives as they are developed.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, businesses, and funding partners.
- Identify and secure employment opportunities, service contracts, and partnership opportunities.
- Prepare proposals, quotes, service agreements, and partnership documentation.
- Support participant recruitment, intake, onboarding, and scheduling.
- Coordinate employment, training, and social enterprise initiatives.
- Track outcomes, performance indicators, and reporting requirements.
- Support marketing, community outreach, and business development activities.
- Assist with sustainability planning, revenue generation, and growth strategies.
- Collaborate with staff, participants, families, employers, and community partners.
- Support future PLC employment initiatives and social enterprises as they develop.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Human Resources, Community Development, Social Services, Nonprofit Management, Rehabilitation, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in business development, project coordination, employment services, community engagement, or related areas.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and networking skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Experience in workforce development, supported employment, or social enterprise.
- Experience with grants, reporting, and outcome measurement.
- Knowledge of nonprofit and charitable sector operations.
