Bassani Transportation Service Inc. is a privately-owned transportation company specializing in equipment, heavy haul, over-dimensional, and general transportation.
We are currently looking for experienced Transport Truck / Trailer Mechanics. Candidates must have experience diagnosing and servicing a range of commercial highway trailers, including tankers, in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Safety knowledge and comprehension skills are required.
Duties include:
- Service, adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems.
- Competently use both hand and power tools to carry out repairs.
- Read and understand work orders.
- Write work orders, including parts used.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment including routine servicing, oil change and lubrication.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor / management.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized shop workspace and ensure the proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma and completion or enrollment in a formal heavy equipment apprenticeship program (NAIT or SAIT).
- Two or more years related experience.
- Hydraulic experience is an asset.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry heavy equipment up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Positive attitude.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures & policies.
- Valid Alberta class 5 license and reliable transportation.
