OMNI PRECAST Inc. is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our team. OMNI PRECAST is a manufacturer of premium precast concrete products with industry roots dating back over 65 years. OMNI PRECAST is seeking individuals that are eager to learn, grow, and develop within the company. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Manager and work with other Quality Technicians to ensure all applicable quality specifications are adhered to throughout the operations and strive for continuous improvement of product quality. They bring with them a positive, hardworking attitude, and a polite approach to communication with all levels of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support other Quality Technicians in maintaining documentations required by the certification program(s)
- Carry out Pre-pour and Post-pour Inspections as required
- Follow mix designs and make adjustments to the concrete mix as required
- Perform fresh concrete testing in accordance with applicable standards
- Support QC Manager in all routine inspections as required by the certification program including equipment calibrations and testing of raw materials
- Review production drawings and specifications to have a clear understanding of project quality requirements
- Report and Document Non-Conformances immediately
- Ensure compliance to Quality Management System, Standards (CSA/OPSS/ASTM)
- Support production personnel through auditing and inspection
Position Requirements:
- ACI Certified
- PCI level I an asset
- Able to stand long hours
- 1+ year of Quality Control experience in precast or related field (Preferred)
- Basic knowledge of Industry Practices and regulations (CSA, CPCI, OPSS and PCI)
- Basic understanding of Engineering drawings and project specifications
- Positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision
- Basic computer and mathematical knowledge
