Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cylindrical Grinder Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience operating precision grinding equipment. This role involves setting up, programming, and operating cylindrical grinders to produce high-quality components in accordance with technical specifications. The successful applicant will contribute to maintaining efficient production processes and ensuring the highest standards of quality.
Duties
- Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines, ensuring precise specifications are met.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to produce accurate parts.
- Program CNC grinders using Fanuc controls and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on grinding equipment.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards and procedures.
- Assist with other machining tasks including CNC lathe, milling, or assembly as needed.
- Document production activities and ensure compliance with quality control protocols.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating cylindrical grinding machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of precision machining and geometric tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of grinding wheel selection and dressing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
