Eastgate Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and student-centered Physical Education Teacher (Part Time -20hours weekly) to join our growing school community.

Position Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Physical Education programming for students in Kindergarten through Grade 9. This individual will foster a positive, inclusive, and active learning environment while promoting healthy lifestyles, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
As a valued member of our small school community, the successful candidate will enjoy building meaningful relationships with students, families, and colleagues while contributing to the overall life of the school.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate Physical Education lessons for students in Kindergarten through Grade 9.
- Promote physical literacy, healthy living, and lifelong fitness habits.
- Create an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and personal achievement.
- Differentiate instruction to meet a variety of student learning needs and abilities.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families.
- Ensure safe use and maintenance of gymnasium equipment and outdoor activity spaces.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student success and contribute to a positive school culture.
- Organize and support school-wide physical activity initiatives, intramural programs, and athletic events, as appropriate.
- Uphold school policies and contribute positively to the mission and values of Eastgate Academy.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor of Education (or equivalent teaching qualification).
- Valid teacher certification (or eligibility for certification).
- Experience teaching Physical Education at the elementary and/or middle school level.
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- A passion for supporting the holistic development of children.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
- Coaching experience is considered an asset.
