Project Director, ICI Construction - Permanent - 19397
About the Opportunity
Our partner is a well-established general contractor active across Alberta’s ICI market, with a growing book of concurrent commercial, industrial, and institutional work in both Calgary and Edmonton. As the team expands, they are looking to add a Project Director to take senior ownership of project delivery across both markets — a leadership seat with direct accountability for project performance, client relationships, and the project management team reporting into it.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Own full project delivery, budget, schedule, quality, and safety, across multiple concurrent ICI projects ranging from $10M to $100M+
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and ownership groups from preconstruction through closeout
Lead, mentor, and build out a team of Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Coordinators across the Calgary and Edmonton offices
Drive preconstruction strategy, including estimating input, constructability reviews, and risk assessment on pursuits
Manage subcontractor and trade partner relationships, including negotiation of major scopes of work
Report on project performance, forecasting, and margin protection directly to senior leadership
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
10+ years of progressive project management/leadership experience in ICI construction, including senior-level oversight of $10M+ projects
Demonstrated experience running multiple concurrent projects or leading a regional, multi-office project team
A track record of building and mentoring project management talent
Strong client-facing skills, comfortable owning relationships with owners, consultants, and trade partners
Working knowledge of the Alberta ICI construction market, ideally with experience across both Calgary and Edmonton
Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field (Gold Seal Certification an asset)
About the Job
This is a permanent, full-time leadership role with a salary range of $150,000 to $180,000, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package and performance bonus structure. The successful candidate can be based out of either Calgary or Edmonton, with regular travel between both markets.
