We are currently seeking a Construction Site Supervisor for Base31 located in Prince Edward County for a variety of different projects.

Who you are
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Construction Site Supervisor to lead and oversee construction projects from start to finish. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate daily site activities, manage teams, ensure safety compliance, and uphold quality standards.
Your leadership will drive project success while maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising union and nonunionized trade workers, contractors, and subcontractors. You will support not just residential but commercial buildings, ad rental property development.
To be successful in this role you will need to have strong people management skills, easily collaborate with others, and be an effective communicator and decision maker.
You have detailed knowledge of all aspects of the carpentry trade, including construction and development of residential and commercial properties, with a focus on OBC, Tarion warranty, corporation building standards, and new home construction.
You have experience and a strong knowledge of grading, site servicing and general landscaping.
You are up to date and knowledgeable of the Ontario Building Code and Construction best practices. Additionally, you are up to date of relevant regulations, codes, and by-laws.
You can easily read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and construction specifications.
High understanding of product finishing and ability to protect installed finishes from damage throughout the construction period.
You are a great communicator, that enjoys collaboration and working cross functionally.
You can easily make decisions and possess critical thinking skills.
You also hold a G class license.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and manage labour and materials for assigned projects.
Keen focus on Tarion warranty management and support in full scope of work for timelines and deficiencies.
Work with the Development Administration to ensure that timelines and schedules are met.
Material management (ordering and inventory management) for efficient business processes and cost savings.
Secure site from theft, trespass, and other security related requirements for the jobsite.
Support administrative duties around insurance requirements, maintaining our understanding of requirements and insurability.
Coordinating and collaborating with Development to support the management of building inspections, with responsibilities of inspection auditing, and resolution of deficiencies.
Ensuring that each job site is debris and waste free.
Lead and maintain quality control standards of CaraCo, championing a clean worksite, and house keeping at all job sites.
Supports and assists the Construction Manager in maintaining and storing CaraCo’s construction equipment, building materials, and other assets.
Ongoing maintenance of equipment, building materials, and other assets.
Provides direction and compliance with Ontario Building Code and best practices in construction and development.
Health and Safety Standards, Codes, Policies and Procedures
This role is a champion of health and safety practices with a specific focus on the following standards.
Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations and CaraCo’s health and safety policies.
Identify and manage all workplace hazards to effectively communicate these to the team, and to support continuous improvement the work environment
Take every reasonable precaution to protect self and others from health and safety hazards
Report unsafe acts or hazardous conditions and follow our health and safety programming.
Employee Management
Manage and evaluate construction staff and subtrades
Collaboration with HR in providing training and resources to employees.
People management, including including performance management.
Motivate and guide staff through feedback, direction, and support
Uphold business policies and lead by example.
Work with employees to support a positive and constructive workplace, with the resolve of issues through accountability and direction.
Education and Experience
Minimum five years’ related experience in a similar construction/maintenance role.
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent education.
Experience managing a team
Working Conditions
Base31 worksite is located in Prince Edward County, where your worksite will be located.
Some exposure to dirt, noise, heat, and mechanical hazards.
Potential to work at elevated heights.
Prolonged periods lifting, carrying, pulling and pushing items, stretching, reaching above head, bending, and twisting, gripping, and holding items for non union related work.
Operating mechanical devices and working with a variety of tools and equipment.
Working with strict time deadlines.
May be required to work overtime hours to ensure supervision of job sites when workers are present
May be required to be on-call for emergencies.

Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
