Position Scope:
The Shunt Truck Driver reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is primarily responsible for moving trailers between Plant 1 and Plant 2 to support active production and prevent down time. The role also involves shunting trailers for the Appetizers, Inventory, and Fresh season shipping ramps. The driver must safely hook and unhook air lines and cables, perform mandatory visual tug tests, and verify that trailer doors are secured across the yard to minimize temperature loss. Additionally, the driver monitors reefer temperature settings, conducts regular checks every 3 hours when shipping is not scheduled, refuels trailers using the automated system, and tracks inventory updates.

Must be able to work rotating shifts.

High awareness of pedestrians and forklifts.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

On-site in a manufacturing environment with exposure to plant operations.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate is a requirement.

Previous experience operating a transfer truck

Minimum Class 5 Drivers License is a requirement, higher classification driver’s license will be considered an asset

WHMIS certification would be considered an asset

Proficiency in using computers would be considered an asset
