About The Shield
The Shield is SDR Academy’s best-on-best hockey series for high-level female players born from 2012 to 2015 for next year’s events.
We are looking for a highly connected Maritime representative to identify, recruit and register top female hockey players for upcoming Shield events.
This is not a general sales position. The successful applicant must already understand the female hockey landscape across the Maritimes and have genuine relationships with players, parents, coaches, teams, associations, spring programs, prep schools or development academies.
The ideal candidate will have connections across more than one Maritime province.
What You’ll Do
- Identify high-level female athletes born from 2012 to 2015 across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island
- Build and manage a recruiting pipeline across the Maritimes
- Connect directly with families, coaches, managers, associations, schools and hockey programs
- Introduce qualified players and families to The Shield
- Book and host information calls
- Answer parent questions and explain the registration and selection process
- Follow up with leads and convert qualified prospects into applications, tryouts and registrations
- Maintain accurate records using Google Sheets or a CRM
- Report weekly on leads, conversations, applications and registrations
- Assist with Maritime tryouts, identification camps or events when available
Required Experience
Applicants must have:
- Strong existing connections within the Maritime female hockey community
- Current knowledge of high-level female hockey players born from 2012 to 2015
- Familiarity with the strongest female hockey teams, associations, spring programs, prep schools and development pathways in the Maritimes
- Relationships with coaches, parents, managers, scouts, associations, schools or program directors
- Knowledge of the female hockey landscape in at least one Maritime province
- Strong communication, sales and follow-up skills
- The ability to work independently and manage a large recruiting territory
- Experience using Google Sheets, a CRM or another lead-tracking system
Applicants without current knowledge of the top female players, teams and programs in the Maritimes will not be considered.
Nice to Have
- Connections across two or more Maritime provinces
- Previous hockey recruiting, coaching, scouting, sales or team-management experience
- Experience working with female hockey players and their families
- Familiarity with association, prep-school, academy and spring hockey pathways
- Experience assisting with camps, tournaments, tryouts or player identification events
- The ability to travel within the Maritimes for selected events
Compensation
This is a retainer-based contractor position with performance bonuses.
The compensation structure, registration incentives, expectations and territory targets will be finalized during the interview process.
