Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Prep Cook and Dishwasher to join our restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining smooth kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal assembly, and ensuring the cleanliness of all dishes and kitchen areas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, food safety, and teamwork, contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and standards
- Support cooking activities by following instructions from chefs or kitchen managers
- Maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment through proper dishwashing procedures
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation standards
- Organize and stock supplies to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently during service hours
- Help with general kitchen cleaning duties including sanitizing work surfaces and disposing of waste properly
- Support the team during busy periods by efficiently managing dishwashing duties and assisting in basic food prep tasks
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environment preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety standards
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety protocols
- Good teamwork skills with a positive attitude
- Basic understanding of serving, cooking, meal preparation, and food handling practices
