The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is widely recognized as one of the world's leading children's hospitals - a pioneer in healthcare, research, education, and training. Building on our rich history and track record, as we look to the future, SickKids requires a significant investment in facilities equipment and information technology to meet the changing needs of our patients and families and maintain the level of service for which we are globally recognized.
In 2015, SickKids launched Project Horizon, a long-term plan for the renewal of the SickKids campus and the foundation for an integrated and seamless paediatric healthcare system. Project Horizon is a multi-year phased redevelopment project to transform the delivery of paediatric care, meet growth needs and replace aging, outdated infrastructure. The goal of Project Horizon is to ensure that SickKids can continue to deliver top quality, specialized paediatric care, through investing in the facilities and technology required to achieve this important mandate.
In addition to the already completed Patient Support Centre (PSC), Project Horizon consists of an offsite Ambulatory Care Tower (ACT), a new Critical Care Tower (CCT) that will be developed on the existing SickKids main campus (collectively the New Facilities), and a series of renovations, infrastructure, and demolition projects within existing SickKids facilities (collectively the Early Works). It is anticipated that the ACT and CCT, given their size and complexity, will be delivered under Infrastructure Ontario's Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP) approach (specific delivery models still to be determined).
SickKids is in the process of standing up a Project Controls and Integration Office to support effective oversight, monitoring, and reporting for Project Horizon moving forward and is seeking a Project Coordinator, Project Controls and Integration Office to support the stream of the Integration in the Project Controls and Integration Office.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Integration (responsible for the Project Integration stream), the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager Controls (responsible for the Project Controls stream) and other members of the Project Horizon team, including Delivery Project Managers for the Early Works Project, Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FFE) and ICAT as well as other functions across SickKids supporting Project Horizon, including Finance, Procurement and the Facilities Project Management Office.
