Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service at our convenience store and fueling station. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a smooth operation of daily activities, assisting customers, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail and customer service skills in a fast-paced setting, with potential for growth within the company. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and sales effectiveness.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling their vehicles efficiently
- Operate POS systems for cash handling, sales transactions, and product purchases
- Provide product demos and upsell additional items such as snacks, beverages, or car accessories
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, fuel pumps, and surrounding areas
- Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed
- Handle customer inquiries courteously via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent communication skills
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and ensure accurate cash handling
- Promote store promotions and special offers to increase sales through effective merchandising techniques
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times during station operations
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support team efficiency
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively in a busy environment
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products and provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Professional phone etiquette and organizational skills required for multitasking during peak hours
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or holidays if needed
