Counterbalance Forklift Operator is responsible for conducting accurate physical inventory counts throughout the manufacturing facility, including raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy by identifying discrepancies between physical inventory and ERP system records and reporting findings to the Master Data & Inventory Control Analyst.
The ideal candidate has strong mathematical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the confidence to question inventory quantities that do not appear accurate. This individual must be highly organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining inventory integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Counting & Verification
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts as assigned.
- Conduct physical inventory counts of raw materials, packaging, WIP, and finished goods.
- Verify inventory quantities, locations, lot codes, and product identification.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual physical inventory counts.
- Ensure inventory count procedures are followed consistently and accurately.
Inventory Accuracy
- Compare physical counts against ERP system inventory records.
- Identify and document inventory discrepancies and variances.
- Escalate inventory issues and discrepancies to the Master Data & Inventory Control Analyst for investigation and resolution.
- Recount inventory as required to validate discrepancies.
- Assist in identifying potential causes of inventory inaccuracies.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate count sheets and inventory records.
- Enter count results into inventory tracking systems as required.
- Prepare inventory variance reports and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all inventory documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Operational Support
- Work closely with Warehouse, Production, Receiving, and Shipping teams to verify inventory accuracy.
- Support inventory audits and compliance requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and food safety requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous inventory counting, warehouse, manufacturing, or inventory control experience preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems and inventory management software is an asset.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong mathematical and numerical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies in inventory records.

- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
