About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking experienced Topmen to join a growing underground utilities team for the 2026 construction season.
Projects include work throughout the Edmonton area, with opportunities to travel to projects in Canmore, Cranbrook, and Kelowna as business needs require.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established civil construction contractor with a strong pipeline of municipal infrastructure work.
Responsibilities
- Support underground sewer and water installation projects
- Safely direct excavation activities around existing utilities
- Grade and prepare trenches for pipe installation
- Communicate effectively with equipment operators and field crews
- Read and interpret grade stakes, drawings, and utility layouts
- Maintain safe work practices at all times
- Assist with daily site activities to ensure projects remain on schedule
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Topman on underground utility projects
- Experience with sewer, storm, and watermain installation
- Strong understanding of underground construction safety
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to site
- Willingness to travel when required
Compensation & Schedule
- $34–$42/hour (depending on experience)
- Full-time seasonal employment
- Edmonton-based work with travel opportunities
- LOA available on select out-of-town projects (case-by-case basis)
