Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating various types of forklifts to facilitate the movement and storage of goods. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to safety protocols, and familiarity with warehouse management systems. The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution operations and ensuring accurate order picking.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Safely handle heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safety standards and protocols
- Assist with order picking processes using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory control
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklift equipment to ensure optimal operation
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing and stacking products efficiently
- Utilize basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations during order fulfillment
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and maintain a safe working environment
Experience
- Minimum 3 years full-time experience with propane, counterbalance forklift,
- Valid/Current Forklift Certification
- CombiLift experience is considered a plus
- Experience loading and unloading flatbed and tractor-trailer trucks
- Experience working in a manufacturing setting
Skills
- Ability to move all size of material, including large material up to 30 feet long
- Maneuver in tight spaces
- Work at a fast pace and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication and ability to learn quickly
- Outside work loading and unloading trucks is an asset
- Shop and Yard organization
