COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Canada) Inc. is a leading global ocean carrier with a rich history in the Canadian market. The company is launching a brand-new operations center, COSCO SHIPPING NAOC – North America Operation Center, in Toronto, and we are seeking detail-oriented Export Coordinators to streamline our outbound container movements.
We are hiring for multiple Export Operations positions across several functional areas, including Vessel Schedules, Vessel Coordination, Empty Equipment, Invoicing and Customer Service. In these roles, you will serve as the critical link between shippers, marine terminal operators, and ocean carriers to ensure full regulatory compliance, accurate manifests, and on-time vessel departures
Successful candidates will be assigned to a functional area based on their qualifications, experience, strengths, and the operational needs of the business.
This is a full-time position based on 37.5 hours per week reporting to the Assistant General Manager of Export Department of NAOC.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify all required export documentation prior to vessel loading, including but not limited to load lists, cargo manifests, and Preliminary/Final CBF reports.
- Edit batch bookings on vessel change, maintain data integrity across internal systems (e.g., IRIS) & terminal platforms and ensure vessel cleansing.
- Manage voyage and cutoff updates within the Cutoff Voyage Control module, ensuring operational requirements such as late gates approvals, CBP holds, dray-offs, fumigation, re-exports cargo movements are properly handled.
- Act as the primary point of contact between terminals, port authorities, government agencies, Customer Service teams, and other internal stakeholders to support smooth cargo operations.
- Resolve Bill of Lading (B/L) amendments, routing discrepancies, operational exception and border-related rejections while maintaining cargo visibility via customer portals.
- Collaborate closely with different departments for space allocation and empty plans.
- Oversee operational cost auditing, demurrage invoicing cycles, and terminal statement.
- Process Third-Party Invoice (3PI) creations and ensure all required payment clearances prior to cargo departure.
- Prepare operational reports and ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and government reporting obligations.
Skills
- Post-secondary Education in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related fields preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the shipping, logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, terminal operations, or supply chain industry is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused, proactive, and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
- Knowledge and experience with Freshdesk, Power Automate and Power BI a plus
- Flexibility to work varying start and end times, including statutory holidays, as required to meet operational and business needs.
