Estimator / Project Coordinator (Estimation-Focused)
Are you an estimator who enjoys staying involved through project execution, not just handing off a number and stepping away? Glacier West Construction is seeking an Estimator / Project Coordinator with a strong emphasis on estimating and pre-construction pricing to support our growing project pipeline.
This is not a traditional “bid hunter” estimating role. We are not a high volume competitive tender shop. Instead, we are looking for someone who can develop accurate budgets and pricing for projects already secured or in advanced stages, while ensuring strong subcontractor engagement, trade coverage, and alignment with project delivery teams.
The ideal candidate is an estimator first, with enough project coordination capability to support execution, cost tracking, and documentation once projects move into construction.
Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with senior leadership, you will play a critical role in ensuring our budgets are accurate, well supported, and executable in the field.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre-Construction (Primary Focus)
- Develop detailed cost estimates, conceptual budgets, and quantity take-offs for industrial and commercial projects
- Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor pricing to ensure full trade coverage and market accuracy
- Work closely with design and project teams to refine scope, assumptions, and constructability inputs
- Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities within drawings, specifications, and early design information
- Maintain and build estimating databases, historical cost data, and benchmarking information
- Support seamless estimating-to-execution handover with clear scope alignment and pricing transparency
Project Support & Coordination (Secondary Function)
- Assist Project Managers with change order pricing, cost tracking, and forecasting
- Support procurement activities including subcontractor selection, scope clarification, and award documentation
- Track budgets, commitments, and project financial updates as required
- Ensure continuity between estimate assumptions and field execution
Documentation & Execution Support
- Maintain organized project documentation (RFIs, shop drawings, QA/QC, schedules, and reporting)
- Support coordination of subcontractors and consultants as needed
- Prepare meeting notes, action logs, and progress updates
- Assist with project close-out including deficiency tracking, as-builts, and turnover documentation
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–7 years of construction estimating experience (primary requirement)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and multi-trade coordination
- Experience in industrial, commercial, or food processing / cold storage construction strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
- Comfortable using estimating and construction management software
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and controls systems is an asset
- Project coordination experience is helpful, but must be secondary to estimating capability

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
