VCS is seeking professional, reliable, and customer focused Security Officers to join our team at the North Vancouver Shipyards Beer Garden and Night Market for the 2026 summer season.
This is more than a typical security position. We are looking for individuals who understand that customer service, professionalism, and communication are just as important as safety and security. Successful candidates will work in a fun, fast-paced environment while helping create a safe and welcoming experience for guests, vendors, and staff.
Position Details
- Location: The Shipyards, North Vancouver
- Schedule: Fridays, May through September
- Shift Time: Approximately 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Pay: Starting at $20.00/hour
- Weekly Pay
- Seasonal Position
Responsibilities
- Monitor guest entry and exit points
- Assist with crowd management and guest flow
- Check identification and wristbands where required
- Respond professionally to incidents and guest concerns
- Support event staff, vendors, and management
- Maintain a visible and professional presence throughout the event
- Help create a safe, positive, and welcoming atmosphere
Requirements
- Valid BC Security Worker Licence
- Minimum 1 year of security, hospitality, customer service, or event experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Reliable transportation to North Vancouver
