POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Security Host, you create the first and last impression our guests have of our business. Your role in creating a safe, comfortable and memorable experience is critical to our success. Our Security Hosts are viewed as part of our Customer Experience Team, and ensure that in addition to a safe experience for guests and staff, they are enhancing every guest’s visit by building rapport and acting as an ambassador for our brand and business. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Acts in the best interest of guest and staff safety, with an emphasis on exemplary, proactive and professional communication
- Supports a safe and comfortable environment for staff, guests, and others working in or visiting our premises
- Supports effective crowd and capacity management in accordance with established guidelines
- Supports a great guest experience through ensuring a clean and safe environment through regular premises “sweeps”, addressing any issues in the moment
- Promotes and informed interaction with guests relating to our guidelines, promotional events and atmosphere
- Works proactively to prevent, identify and de-escalate situations which might compromise staff and guest safety and comfort, including during the guest admission process or while guests are on premises
- Follows best practices and guidance as outlined by Company policy, provincial laws or local bylaw, the Liquor Control Act, and third parties including BarWatch
- Acts as a role model in exhibiting empathy, kindness, and professionalism, with awareness of the significant impact the role of Security Host has on our internal and external environments, brand, and community
- Ensure continual and effective communication with a wide range of stakeholders, including guests, staff, management, and other partners in a great guest experience
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Holds a valid Security Worker Licence
- Familiarity with Liquor Control Act
- Previous experience in a customer service role, ideally within hospitality
- Effective communication skills and demonstrable ability to use curiosity, empathy and active listening
- Possesses self-awareness and understanding of de-escalation techniques
- Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Honest, fair and consistent approach to customer interactions
- A desire to provide an elevated guest experience through upholding both safety and enjoyment as priorities
- Availability to work evenings and weekends, when our business is busiest
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Valid Serving It Right certificate
- Valid First Aid certification

Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6.0 – 24.0 per week
