Position Summary
Centennial College’s IT department is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Systems Analyst, Enterprise Systems (Banner ERP) to join the Enterprise Systems team within Information Technology Services (ITS). Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Systems, the Systems Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, integration, and support of the College's Ellucian Banner Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and related enterprise applications. This role supports critical business functions across Student Services, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, and other administrative areas through the delivery of secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors to deliver new system capabilities, support integrations, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and the overall user experience.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, system designs, and scalable Banner ERP solutions that align with business objectives and enterprise standards.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and support Banner ERP enhancements, custom applications, integrations, and third-party/cloud solutions throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Administer and maintain Banner ERP applications by monitoring system performance, managing application deployments, supporting integrations, and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations.
- Provide technical consultation and operational support to business users and IT teams by resolving complex issues, recommending solutions, and supporting continuous service improvements.
- Lead and coordinate enterprise application projects, upgrades, and system implementations by developing project plans, managing risks, and mentoring junior team members.
- Develop and execute testing strategies, including system integration and user acceptance testing, to ensure solutions meet quality, security, compliance, and performance standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, user guides, knowledge articles, and training materials, while delivering knowledge transfer and end-user training as required.
- Research emerging technologies, Banner ERP enhancements, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and operational efficiency across the College.
Qualifications/Experience
Education
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in systems analysis, application development, and enterprise systems support.
- Experience supporting ERP platforms, preferably Ellucian Banner.
- Experience with systems integration, database design, and application development.
- Experience leading technical projects and working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting web-based applications and enterprise business systems.
Technical Skills
- Banner ERP administration and development experience preferred.
- Strong SQL and database analysis skills.
- Experience with application integration technologies, APIs, and web services.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and SDLC best practices.
- Experience with Oracle databases, web applications, and cloud-based solutions is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management and change management practices.
