Position Summary
The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of the building’s common areas, exterior grounds, and shared facilities. This role plays an important part in supporting resident satisfaction by ensuring the property is consistently clean, well-maintained, and welcoming.
About the Building
The Rosemont Residences is located in Downtown Toronto’s Entertainment District on the northwest corner of John and Wellington Streets. The property is uniquely positioned with a mix of 274 unfurnished suites, 146 furnished suites and 9 retail units, offering long-term, short-term and extended-stay rental options.
Responsibilities
Building & Common Area Cleaning
- Maintain all interior common areas of the residential building in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain hallways, stairwells, lobbies, entrances, and other shared spaces.
- Vacuum carpets and remove dust, dirt, debris, and refuse from all common areas using industrial cleaning equipment as required.
- Clean windows, interior walls, doors, and ceilings in common areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal of waste.
Washroom & Amenity Upkeep
- Clean, disinfect, and restock all shared washrooms and fixtures.
- Replenish required toiletries, paper products, and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of any amenity or service areas within the building.
Exterior Grounds & Seasonal Maintenance
- Maintain the exterior grounds, entrances, walkways, and sidewalks in a clean and presentable condition.
- Remove litter, rubbish, dirt, and debris from all outdoor areas of the property.
- Remove snow, ice, and debris from walkways, entrances, and sidewalks as required.
Safety & Operational Support
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and use of cleaning products in accordance with WHMIS and company policies
- Notify the Superintendent of any repair needs, damages, hazards, or deficiencies in building systems or common areas
- Support the building team with additional operational duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven custodial or cleaning experience in commercial or residential settings.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
- Good communication skills.
- Prior experience in hospitality or property management is a plus.
Pay: $17.60-$18.50 per hour
