Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of light duty equipment, including forklifts, scissors lift, telehandler and other industrial machinery. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with power tools and hand tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. A background in equipment maintenance is highly desirable. The Forklift Mechanic will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet of machinery.
Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on forklifts and other equipment using schematics and technical manuals
- Perform repairs and maintenance on industrial equipment, including electrical systems, hydraulic components, engines, and structural parts
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems before they lead to failures
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic tools to complete repairs
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while handling large components or machinery parts
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist with assembly and installation of new equipment or machinery upgrades
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repair status and recommendations
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy machinery such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, or similar industrial equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge across electrical systems, HVAC systems and schematics interpretation
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary
- Experience working with different brands is a plus
- Knowledge of farm machinery or other large mechanical systems is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills for effective customer service and team collaboration
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
