Job Responsibilities
As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking menu items according to Santa Lucia Pizza recipes and quality standards.
- Preparing customer orders accurately and efficiently during busy service periods.
- Setting up and stocking workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before each shift.
- Ensuring the kitchen line is fully prepped, organized, and ready for service at all times.
- Preparing ingredients by chopping, portioning, slicing, and assembling food items.
- Maintaining consistency in food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Monitoring food quality and reporting any issues to the Kitchen Manager.
- Following all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Maintaining a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation throughout each shift.
- Properly storing and labeling food products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Assisting with inventory, restocking, and rotating products as required.
- Minimizing food waste and using ingredients responsibly.
- Working closely with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and smooth communication.
- Assisting with opening and closing kitchen duties.
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, preparation areas, and cooking stations.
- Following all company policies and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Assisting with additional kitchen duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- A valid Food Handler Certificate (required).
- Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience (preferred).
- Experience preparing pizza, pasta, or Italian cuisine is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Reliable transportation and excellent attendance.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
