Scholars is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated French Teacher to join our team. As a teacher, you will provide individualized academic support to students while helping them build confidence, develop strong learning habits, and achieve their academic goals.

Responsibilities
- Provide individualized French instruction tailored to each student’s learning style, strengths, areas for improvement, and academic goals.
- Support students with French reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and oral communication, as appropriate to their level.
- Keep students engaged, motivated, and on-task throughout each lesson.
- Monitor and communicate student progress, work completion, work habits, behaviour, and attitude.
- Review curriculum expectations and student assignments in advance of each lesson to ensure effective preparation.
- Prepare teaching materials and supplemental resources when required.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students build confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with other tutors and Centre staff to support student success.
- Attend staff workshops and meetings as required.
- Complete administrative and other duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) preferred; flexibility may be available at the discretion of the Centre Director.
- Strong French-language skills and an educational background or experience relevant to the French tutoring being provided.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience, preferably with students in an academic setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage and engage multiple students while keeping them focused and on-task.
- Patient, enthusiastic, encouraging, and student-focused approach.
- Professionalism, reliability, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
