Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyman Plumber with commercial boiler expertise to join our team in Red Deer & Edmonton on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, a solid background in plumbing and HVAC systems, and the ability to perform maintenance and installation tasks in commercial settings. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex projects that require precision, technical skill, and adherence to safety standards. The successful applicant will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and boiler systems, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, and appliances
- Service and troubleshoot commercial boilers and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate installation and repairs
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other construction tools effectively
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely during installation or maintenance projects
- Conduct routine inspections to identify system deficiencies or potential issues
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to building codes and industry standards during all work activities
- Assist in assembly and fabrication of piping systems or related components as needed
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for record-keeping and compliance purposes
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Plumber certification with proven experience in commercial boiler systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in HVAC, maintenance procedures, blueprint reading, schematics, and basic math skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience working with construction projects involving assembly, schematics interpretation, and system troubleshooting
- Knowledge of safety standards related to plumbing, HVAC systems, welding, and construction sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
